Butterfly Canvas using Elizabeth Park Collection by LYB

Happy Thursday! Emily here with my latest creation for HappyNScrappin' using the Little Yellow Bicycle Elizabeth Park Collection. Being a HUGE butterfly gal, this is a perfect collection for me! It has everything I love all in one... my favorite colors, butterflies and flowers.

I cut out the butterflies from the Flutter By paper in the collection for this piece. I first stamped on the canvas using black ink. Gesso mixed with some Making Memories silver paint was brused over this. The paint was heavily watered down. This allows the stamping to show through just enough. After the paint had dried, I used some of my Shimmerz to spritz all over the canvas for some color. If you look at the background behind the butterflies on teh Flutter By paper, you can see that I am mimicking the colors that are on the original paper.

When the spritz had dried I placed the butterflies in rows on the canvas using Mod Podge. I sealed them using Mod Podge as well. After they were sealed, I used my I-Rock tool to add three crystals down the center of each one. I then used some of the Making Memories glitter glaze to add some glitz to them.

Some sparkling ribbon was added to the bottom. I pleated it then added a plastic beaded chain and the Maya Road flower. Some of the Making Memories glitter glaze was added to the flower as well. The bright blue ribbon pulls out the blue in some of the butterflies.
