Halloween Treat Bags

Happy Saturday friends! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I know I am. I have some treat bags to show you today that I created  using products from the store. 

These bags were a lot of fun to make. The bags I get from work. They are rejects from the stampers who stamp the brand image on them by hand.  Rather than them end up in the garbage, I take them home and use them for projects such as this! They also make fantastic banners. :) 

To color the bags, I used Shimmerz paints. I dumped a portion of my paint container in the color I wanted in a zip lock bag and added water to it. I threw the bag in the bag and closed it.  To get the bag fully colored I rolled and squeezed the baggie until my fabric bag was entirely colored. I learned this technique for coloring bags from the super sweet Kendra Sand. Go HERE for the tutorial. 

After both of my bags were covered with Shimmerz and had dried, it was time to decorate them. I used some of the MME Lost & Found Halloween Collection to decorate one of the bags and some Doodle Twine by Doodlebug for the other along with some acrylic paint, Faber Castell markers and more Shimmerz.

My ghosts were painted on by me. I rarely paint actual images, but I figured it would be hard to mess up painting ghosts.... right? :)

MME The Sweetest Thing Lavender Collection

Good morning Happy N Scrappin' friends! I hope you are all having a fantastic week... and it's almost over, so I'm sure you must be by now! 

Today I have a layout for you that I created using My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing - Lavender Collection. This color combo of The Sweetest Thing collections is definitely sweet. I immediately thought "little girl" when I saw it. And because I have a little girl, it worked out perfectly! 

In addition to the MME papers from the store, I also used a ton of Shimmerz on my flowers and swirl! I love the shimmer that it gives when it catches the light!

If you look closely, you can see the shimmer! 

I chose to hide the majority of my journaling on a tag that was painted with more Shimmerz and tucked behind the title. I adhered the title on the sides and bottom only to create the pocket for my journaling. I then added a Shimmerz'd flower to the corner. :)

Layout with MME The Sweetest Thing

Good morning friends! Emily here with a layout I created using the new My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Collection in the Bluebell Color Scheme. 

I was so excited to work with these papers. There are some great patterns in this scheme. And the colors are my absolute favorites! 

I used some mists on the kraft cardstock and on some of the patterned papers. I wanted the messy look to it in those areas. I stamped the "take a moment for yourself" using a Unity Stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I colored in the brackets and around the edge with some Shimmerz paints. 

I made the flowers myself by using my i-Top Brad Maker Punches in Large and Medium. I layered the punched papers and pulled up the tabs so they look like flowers.  I had some leftover BG brads and pearls from a friend that I used in the centers of the flowers.

Pink Lady using BG Konnichiwa

Hello and Happy Friday! Emily here with a layout that I created using the Basic Grey Konnichiwa collection which you can find in the store. This collection is so versatile. That's the joy of double sided paper collections, IMO. I know there are a lot out there, but there are a small handful that give you a completely different look with each side. Some are similar. This collection is one that works on so many levels. I've made a lot of different things with this one! 

I made this layout using photos of my daughter from school. I wanted to repeat the photo in the lower half instead of using other photos. Not to mention, since it is a school photo, there weren't many options! But repetition in photos can be a fun technique to use when creating a layout. If you have never tried it, definitely try it sometime. :) 

Below are close ups of various parts of the layout. 

The fabric behind the photo of Serentiy is actually a part of a muslim bag that I recycled from work. We stamp on them and of course mistakes are made, so instead of throwing them away, I take them home and utilize them in my crafting endeavors! I used some Glimmer Mist and Shimmerz on the fabric to color it. I love how it turned out!

Shimmer(z) Your Tags

Hi! Emily here, with a couple of tags to share using some awesome Shimmerz paints from the Happy N Scrappin' store. Currently all Shimmerz products are 25% off! 

This birthday tag I made by using various shades of Shimmerz in layers. I used my heat gun to dry each layer individually before adding the additional layers. For the initial layer I covered my entire tag, front and back with the chosen color. The next layers I did not fully cover the tag with. I used a dry paint brush to brush them on in various areas of the tag. 

The flower originally was a cream/brownish color. I changed the color by adding a couple of colors of Shimmerz paint. I love how it turned out... don't you love the shine?! 

This second tag was created using kraft cardstock, corrugated cardboard for the heart, Distress Ink, water, Shimmerz, a stamp and my sketch pen. 

Look at the lovely shimmer this tag has? It's a totally different look from the first tag! I love how you can use the same products for such very different looks!
